Creating a Special Christmas For The Kids

For many of us, Christmas is all about the kids. Here are some very cute Christmas projects you can do the kids to make it a magical holiday.

In the lead-up to the big day, the excitement levels rise and it is just the most joyful time of year. Treating the kids on the big day is one thing, but how about filling their week with small but fun gifting to hype them up for the big day? You don’t have to go crazy, but this is the only time year you can get away with wearing Christmas themed pyjamas so let’s embrace it!

A Night-Before-Christmas Box

Pyjamas, DVD's, a book, and some lollies all relating back to Santa and his happy helpers. Surprising kids - or anyone for that matter, with little treats along the way just added to the excitement. It's such a cute thing to open the night before Christmas and can start a lovely family tradition. Sitting together in Christmas pyjamas, drinking a hot chocolate and watching a favourite movie.

A Candy Cane Treasure Hunt

Planning a get together leading up to Christmas is the perfect time to get children involved in a little treasure hunt. Like an Easter egg hunt,  hang some candy canes from trees in your backyard, arm the kid's with bags and let them go! Once they are all collected, they can decorate the Christmas tree, eating a few themselves of course!

Make a food bag for Rudolph

This is the perfect little project to make with small kids. They love the idea of mixing up some food for their favourite reindeer and sprinkling it about the night before; it leaves a beautiful, sparkling trail for all to see. Simply mix birdseed and edible glitter from a cake decorating store. Dasher and Prancer and the rest of the team will be there in no time. But of course, Santa's reindeer's will still need some carrot and water left out!

Treats for Santa

I'm going to leave out a fun hot chocolate mix with Santa cups and marshmallows, which always need to have some sweet treats to accompany them. Because who doesn’t like sweet things dipped in their hot chocolate? Certainly not Santa.
