There is something about the sun shining that makes me want to spruce up my home!
Looking back over the archives in Chyka.com I have shared so many tips and tricks about keeping your home, your garden and yourself in tip-top shape. Whether it be a little wardrobe organisation, a simple way to makeover your balcony or some inspiration to get your body moving. So let's delve back into the archives and have a look at some of your old favourites...
Organise Your Wardrobe like a Pro!
My wardrobe is a little out of control. But, you know what? I wear nearly everything that is in there. And more than once! I love clothes, I love fashion and seeing as I have a whole room dedicated to it you have probably now worked out I am pretty serious when it comes to keeping it organised. Culling your wardrobe can be one of the most time-consuming jobs....
How To Keep Your Chopping Board Clean
A big old wooden slab that gets used day in day out. You use it for buttering toast on, making your sandwiches on, cutting up your vegetables for dinner. The one that gets wiped and put away piled up against all the others - the small cheeseboard, the serving paddle and the funky fruit shaped board that never quite balances right on your drying rack. We all have them.
But do we know how to look after them? I mean really care for them. I know I had to be schooled on how to care for them properly once a few of my favourite wooden boards started to splinter and stain. Apparently, soap and water just won’t do! And you know what, it’s pretty simple.
Quick Tips from Chyka's Laundry
They are pretty basic, but sometimes when you are caught up in the rush of daily life, small tips like this will make your day easier. I’m all making it easy! First tip, a handy downloadable washing sheet. I have one like this in my laundry that I refer to all the time, it has saved my clothes from some dire situations, and I think everyone should have one. Print it out and frame it on your laundry wall. Or simply blue tac it to the inside of a cupboard, refer to it when in doubt!
Does Your Balcony Need A Makeover?
A few hours and a little bit of colour are all you need to brighten up space. Our upstairs deck is an area we use all the time (more so in the summer for a sneaky afternoon G&T!) it’s lovely spot to soak up the spring sun, but I was getting a little bored with it.
