Spruce Up Your Bedroom With Stripes!

I love a traditional bedroom of navy stripes. It is classic and contemporary, yet neutral enough to act as a base so personality can be added.
With a base colour of navy and dark wood, my son BJ’s room is a masculine space. But like any room at the beginning of decoration - the base layer is white. Keeping this neutral means that you can add any colour into the decor and not be worried about clashes or rooms looking too busy and disjointed. Navy and white is one of my favourite colour combinations and it works perfectly for a beach house or boys bedroom.
Introducing navy and stripes is a no brainer for this space; it’s simple, classic and works in well with the existing denim armchairs. As we all know my favourite saying is 'more is more is more'! So why not add some other patterns? Stripes have been around forever and are a great strong look that works back with any kind of pattern- spots, checks or solid colours. However, you will need to stick to only a couple of colours otherwise it can look messy. This look can be subtle or bold and with all the great products around at the moment you can really have some fun.
I love small stripes for sheets and a larger stripe for the doona cover, think about adding some scatter cushions in some constructing patterns to add that 'wow' factor. The bathroom is another area you can have fun in too and with the huge variety of towels available suddenly you can transform a small space into something bold and beautiful!
