There’s something truly magical about a Christmas wreath, isn’t there? Hanging one on your door feels like the ultimate festive welcome, a cheerful invitation to celebrate the season. But did you know that wreaths date back centuries? The tradition of wreaths is thought to have originated with the ancient Greeks and Romans, who used laurel wreaths as symbols of victory and honour. Over time, the circular shape—representing eternity—became intertwined with Christian symbolism, particularly during Advent. Today, wreaths have evolved into decorative expressions of holiday joy, blending history with creativity.

I have made many wreaths in my time, but I have kept it simple this year. Shocking, I know! It’s the perfect festive activity to get the kids involved, so whether you go for rustic elegance or vibrant whimsy, a DIY wreath is an excellent way to celebrate the season and add a personal, heartfelt touch to your holiday décor.
