A Fresh Take On Easter

There is something so magical about Easter, isn’t there? A season of renewal, fresh beginnings, and the hint of autumn in the air. It’s one of my favourite times to gather those I love most and bring everyone together for a long, leisurely lunch filled with laughter, connection, and beauty. What are your plans? Are you hosting Easter lunch indoors? If so, I've got a setting for you to take inspiration from in a fresh, clean, and oh-so-classic colour palette of blue and white. There’s something so timeless about this pairing—it feels like a breath of fresh air. Think crisp white linens, delicate blue accents, and layers of detail that quietly whisper elegance. It’s like pressing the reset button on the year in the most stylish way.
Let’s start with the heart of the celebration - the table. This is where the real magic happens - the people, the conversation, the food! I’ve dressed ours with simple white linens to create a clean canvas, then layered in beautiful IKEA placemats in natural tones to bring warmth and texture. Delicate blue Bed Bath & Table eggs are nestled in little white bowls at each setting, a gentle nod to tradition but with a fresh, contemporary twist. And, of course, no Easter table of mine would be complete without my beloved Bunny Collection. Over the years, I’ve collected a whimsical mix of white china bunnies in all different sizes, and they’re always the first thing I bring out when Easter rolls around. Some are tall and elegant, others are sweet and squat with floppy ears - each has a little personality, and together, they create the most enchanting centrepiece. Nestled amongst the flowers, they add charm, tradition, and a sense of joy that feels just right for the season.
You know I love a floral moment, but I’ve kept it ethereal and delicate this time with a mix of White Dahlias and Queen Anne’s Lace. The dahlias bring a sense of structure and poise, while the Queen Anne’s Lace softens everything with its wild, romantic feel. Arranged loosely in white ceramic vessels, the blooms look like they’ve just been gathered from a country garden. It’s all about letting the flowers breathe and move, not over-styling them - they’re the quiet heroes of the table.
What would Easter be without a bit of chocolate indulgence? Sweet touches scattered along the table are beautiful chocolates wrapped with a ribbon to act as a cute place setting over a simple napkin. They’re not just delicious - they’re décor in their own right! I always say the little details make a table feel truly special, and these add just the right amount of sparkle and sweetness.
Easter, for me, is a time to gather. It is less about perfection and more about presence. It’s about the people around the table, the conversations long after the plates are cleared, and the feeling of home from being with your tribe. Whether you’re hosting a grand feast or a quiet lunch for two, creating a beautiful setting is a way of showing love. It says: “You matter. This moment matters.” So embrace the blues and whites, bring out your bunnies, let the flowers tumble where they may, and most of all, enjoy the gift of togetherness.
