There is something so magical about spending time in an artist’s studio…

….And Amy is an artist whose work I am obsessed with! When developing my new Sugar Snap Pea range for Harris Scarfe, I always try to visualise how it would look all styled on a dining table, how I would mix and match the new with the old, and what would act as a centrepiece to bring out the best in the collection. I knew Amy’s beautiful copper sculptures would be the perfect companion to this collection, so I had to make a special visit…

Amy has perfected her technique over many years and has created the most unique botanical studies. I am lucky to own a few of her pieces, so stepping inside her studio to learn more about her was an absolute treat. As a botanical artist who lives and works in Melbourne, Aimmee has a background in floristry, visual merchandising, weaving painting, and - a general lover of all things tiny and detailed, her botanical heirlooms are made to be treasured for years to come and bring a sense of history.

So much time, love and detail go into making these beautiful heirlooms. From hand-cutting copper to every shape of leaf and petal to painting, wrapping and shaping stems. Aimee has perfected her art, and when visiting her studio, you can feel the love that goes into every piece made. What I love the most about her work is that it has a vintage, old-school feel, which is achieved by layers of paint and the tweaking of petals and leaves to give the bloom an otherworldly feel.

Her Snap Pea collection has been lovingly made by hand, every little detail, every little fold of a petal, and as beautiful as they will look as the centrepiece for my Easter table they will also be stunning atop a dresser, a mantle - basically anywhere in your home as they are so precious!
