Host A Virtual Mother's Day

This Mother’s day is going to be a little different as we sit and wait out isolation…
…but that doesn’t mean we can’t get creative and host a virtual Mother’s Day! Don’t let the day pass without connecting with family, friends and anyone else who needs that extra bit of love right now. With social distancing rules in mind, how can we make this day special for mum? We all know how to get in contact online (facetime, house party, zoom etc..) so let’s get to specifics and make sure we have some fun once we are connected.
Breakfast in Bed You may not be able to cook it for her, but you can always get her favourite breakfast delivered? Think coffee, croissants, pancakes, danishes… Maybe you can create a little box full of her favourites and leave it at her doorstep?
Make lunch together? Connect via a social app and cook a recipe together, maybe a cake or quick soup for lunch where you can chop up your ingredients and chat at the same time. Almost like you are side by side in a kitchen….!
Watch a movie together Pick your favourite then settle down for the afternoon. Extensions like Netflix Party allow you to sync films and group chat, and if you do a quick google - there are so many video apps to watch a movie together. Find one that suits you, and get that popcorn ready!
Host happy hour with family and friends celebrating all the women in your life! Send your guests a zoom invite with cocktail ingredients, a list of games to play and a time to catch up - then spend the evening sipping drinks and chatting.
Check places off your bucket list together there are so many virtual tours going on at the moment - take advantage of them! Maybe you want to wander the Louvre or take an interactive walk through the NGV’s most recent shows.
Organise dinner for your mum, it’s easy! Contact your mum’s favourite restaurant and get a special meal delivered. Then once our lives are all backup and running, take Mum out. You know she deserves it.
Create a PLAYLIST just for Mum that she can listen to throughout the day. Fill it with a fun combination of oldies, newies and dance tunes she can enjoy all day long. You could even download my Mother’s Day playlist from Spotify and share it with her.
